The Success Story of the International Conference on Future of Women 2018

The International Conference on Future of Women was successfully held from 06th and 07th February, 2018 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The Conference was organized by The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka with the collaboration of Vasanta College for Women, India as the hosting partner and NMKRV College, India under theme “A Prospect for Greater Vision”.
The opening remarks of 2017 were made by the Conference Convener Mr. Isanka P. Gamage (Co-Founder & Managing Director – The International Institute of Knowledge Management (TIIKM), Sri Lanka) and Conference chair Prof. Anita Singh (Centre for Women’s Studies and Development, Banaras Hindu University, India)
The speech representing the Hosting Partner was given by Dr. Alka Singh (Vasanta College for Women, India) and Academic Partner Dr. S. P. Srimathi (NMKRV College, India)

The keynote forum was consisted with four keynote speeches. The first keynote speech on “ Towards the Greater Vision for Women and the Earth: The Three Color Paradigm and Global Activism for Feminist Movement ” was delivered by Prof. Gaphee Ko (Activist, Professor and Theoretician, South Korea)

The second keynote speech on “ Moving from the Middle to the Top ” was delivered by Dr. Indigo Triplett (CEO, Author and Speaker, United States) Prof. Anita Singh (Centre for Women’s Studies and Development, Banaras Hindu University, India) delivered his keynote speech under the topic “ Towards Equal World/Equal Spaces: New Challenges for Gender Equality in the 21st Century ”

The last keynote speech of the conference was delivered by Ms. Malalai Joya who is a Political Activist and Writer in Afghanistan

Future women 2018 provided a solid platform for over 50 researchers, stake holders and policy makers from across the globe representing around 10 countries to share their research findings with one another and to discuss the policy implications in women studies. The conference provided a refreshing experience for all, especially for the young researchers who had the opportunity to share their research findings on an international platform.
